First blog post Week 2

It isn’t straightforward to write about what topic we need to cover for our group project, as we have not entirely narrowed down our idea. Sad Journalism kids had talked yesterday about many different possibilities that we may try, such as the Big Top performing arts center or maybe even working for the classes here on campus. I enjoy the activities that get you out and going. At least getting out of your home is a good start as it makes you active and going somewhere. It was an excellent idea to suggest the performing arts center as there are so many different events happening there that could contribute to a great project my group could make. As a group, we agreed to start researching what the center looks like, and we decided on who would do what — things like photographer, videographer, graphic designer, etc. Asking to do a skill for a project like this where you would want to learn something new or maybe even hone a particular craft is not something that can be agreed on by the whole group. Everyone lives their way, and asking people to try new things may pose a challenge to the group as a whole. So far, I have looked into the events planned for the Big Top center, and it seems that they have weekly classes that students can attend and, more importantly, how long these classes go. This planning will help my group get enough time to work out when we will meet and also what each of our roles are in the process of creating this project. The next big step for our group is we need to finalize our idea and make sure we will be on top of our assigned roles. Our roles are something that could have been discussed more at the time, but we still have contact with one another so that will solve any issues that are in need of desperate attention. Overall, I think we have a pretty good group and I look forward to working towards when we meet again and discuss our future endeavors.
