For the second week of class and the first week of real work, I think “Sad Journalism Kids” started on the right foot. Though it is still relatively early in the creative process, we are already spit-balling ideas for possible topics such as “The Big Top Performing Arts Center” and other local activities. Personally I am very excited for the Performing Arts idea because I think it provides a plethora of opportunities for us to stretch our creative muscles and create content that is appealing on visual and written front.
I am excited to see how our group works together, from what I can tell we all get along pretty well, even while enduring the icy awkwardness of forced group assignments. We all seem to be marginally well versed in the necessary skills that are reacquired to do well with this project and maybe even have a bit of fun in the process.
Perhaps it is just early in the process, or we just got lucky, but either way we haven’t experienced any particular set backs, or challenges. I believe the next course of action is going to be solidifying our topic, and making the necessary arrangements to meet with our subjects and set the foundations for the project. Overall, I am optimistic about the course this group will take. I have never been forced to work long term on a project with others before and I look forward to seeing how this will help all of us grow in each of our desired field.
